What Path Are You On?

Matthew 7:13-14 NASB  "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.  (14)  "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

The path to God is found only through a relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ. The way to have that relationship requires the following:

1. Tell God you have been living life in opposition to His will by ignoring Him and doing what YOU want instead of what He wants. (Confession)

2. Change your mind about living your way and choose to live God's way, which is far better for you. (Repentance)

3. Ask for forgiveness from God for living in rebellion against Him. (Asking for forgiveness)

4. Ask for God to move in and take over your life. Allow Him to be in charge of your life. (Trusting Jesus alone for salvation)

5. Tell someone about your decision and be baptized.

Find a Bible believing, Bible teaching church to attend and allow yourself to be taught the Word of God.

A prayer DOES NOT save you, but expressing to God what is in your heart can help solidify a decision. You can use the following simple prayer as a guideline, but it is more what you mean than the words you say. Prayer is simply communicating to God from your heart, so you can use your own words.

What is important are the steps listed above.

"Dear God. I have spent my life living my own way. I have been in rebellion against you which is sin. I don't want to live life without You any more. I confess my sins, asking you to give my sins to Jesus, who paid for all of my sins on the cross. I ask you to forgive me. I place my trust in Jesus and give myself fully to Him. And please help me to never be ashamed of you!

Amen."
